Will’s talk will introduce the history of the various types of art crime: from (in)famous museum heists and Nazi looting, to antiquities looting and trafficking, to fakes and forgeries – and finally to the everyday nature of art and valuables crime. His talk will be accompanied by case studies that are balanced between well-known cases and lesser known, but also some more detailed cases in which he has been directly involved.
As well as being an Art Crime Specialist, Will is Head of Fairs at TEFAF (The European Fine Art Foundation) where he oversees operations at TEFAF’s world-leading art and antiques fairs in Maastricht and New York. He separately runs the Cultural Heritage At Risk Database (CHARD), a foundation that registers collections from museums, archaeological sites, archives and other depositories in conflict and crisis zones- so very relevant in today’s world.
Will is a trained archaeologist working with the trade, police, governments, museums, and collectors to identify and return stolen art and antiquities.

Our innovative devising projects, led by skilled practitioners, invite discussion around themes of topical interest . They encourage creative thinking , team collaboration, and imaginative problem solving. Confidence and self-belief grow as groups work towards a performance that expresses their voice on important subjects. The filmed work around environmental issues received international recognition at COP26 and 27.
Murray Parish Trust
The Murray Parish Trust is dedicated to supporting projects both at Southampton Children’s Hospital and across the south of England which advance and enhance children’s physical and mental healthcare. Together we transform children’s health in hospital and in the community, so that we can save more lives and improve quality of life for children, giving them the very best chance to thrive and reach their full potential.
During 2023 and beyond, we are focusing on children’s mental health, fundraising to deliver projects which aim to improve early and innovative interventions.
